Read More25+ Awesome Circle Games for Kids and Adults
We often sit or stand in circles at camp to play games, share ideas, or make announcements.
Circle games are great because:
-
Everyone can see and hear each other.
-
No one is first or last—everyone is equal.
-
They’re easy to lead and don’t take much time to set up.
Most circle games need little or no equipment, so they’re perfect when plans change or you need a quick activity.
Helpful Tips for Leading Circle Games
Here are a few simple ideas to help you lead circle games:
-
Ask kids to hold hands and slowly walk backward until their arms are stretched out. This helps make a nice, even circle. Grown-ups may not need this step.
-
Keep a rope loop (like rock climbing webbing) nearby. Everyone can hold onto the rope and back up to form a circle. You can play games like group sit or race car using the rope.
-
Keep a round blanket handy in your bag or classroom. Ask the group to sit around the outside of the blanket to form a circle.
We’d love to hear from you!
If you have a favorite circle game or a new twist on one, please share it with us by submitting an activity below.
