Requirements
Plenty of space on soft, even ground
One empty bucket
One bucket filled with water
Objective
The aim of the game is to get other players to knock over the top bucket. This is done by physically pulling players in any direction so that at some point one player has nowhere to go to other than straight into the bucket!
Once the circle has only two players left holding hands the game ends and these two players are declared the winners.
Description
This is a game that I played at an international Scout camp in Norway many years ago with the Sorlandet Krets (Scout group from Kristiansand, Norway.)
It requires quick reactions, the ability to hold hands tightly and to work together as a team. Some athleticism can also be useful.
Place one bucket on the floor, facing down. Place another bucket on top of this, facing up. You can fill it with water for some extra fun in the summer, but this is optional.
8 or more players must join hands to create a circle around the buckets.
The aim of the game is to get other players to knock over the top bucket. This is done by physically pulling players in any direction so that at some point one player has nowhere to go to other than straight into the bucket!
Players can team up to get a single player to knock over the bucket. This is a good tactic for smaller, less strong members of the circle. Or everyone plays for themselves.
If a player knocks over the top bucket then they are out of the game. The circle then becomes smaller and avoiding the bucket becomes harder.
If any two players let go of each others’ hands then they are also both out of the game.
Once the circle has only two players left holding hands the game ends and these two players are declared the winners.
