Objective
Description
For this activity, TWO (and only two) people must know the trick. It will be ruined if the campers know how it works!
How it works:
1. Gather campers in a circle with one counselor. Inform the campers that you can “read each others minds”. The other counselor must then place themselves out of earshot of the group.
2. Have campers come up with an object in the vicinity. It could be as broad as “Cabin A” or as specific as “that leaf on that tree”.
3. Once the group has agreed on the object, have the second counselor return to the circle.
4. The counselor WHO KNOWS the object will begin pointing at things in the surrounding area asking “Is it this ___?”. After saying a few things the counselor will then point to a black colored object that is not the chosen object. For example, “Is it her black backpack?”. After asking this question, the next item will be the chosen item and the other counselor will “magically” guess it correctly!
Here is an example of the dialogue for clarity:
Chosen item: Big rock
C1: Is it that stick?
C2: No
C1: Is it our cabin?
C2: No
C1: Is it that leaf?
C2: No
C1: Is it my black shirt?
C2: No
C1: Is it the big rock?
C2: Yes!
