Line up by height, smallest boy last, group leader in front leading the singing.
Objective
Description
At irregular intervals between skits, when there is ALWAYS dead time, this group marches across the stage/camp fire area singing the appropriate verse of “The Ants Go Marching…”. (Try to time the marching so one verse lasts all the way across the stage)
1st time:
The ants go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah
The Ants go marching one by one, the little one stops to shoot his gun (smallest guy in group pretends to shoot at the audience), and they all … (Adult counselor stops the group and shoos them offstage)
2nd time:
The ants go marching two by two, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching two by two, hurrah, hurrah
The Ants go marching two by two, the little one stops to tie his shoe (smallest guy in group pretends to tie his shoe), and they all … (Adult counselor stops the group and shoos them offstage)
3rd time:
The Ants go marching three by three, hurrah, hurrah …
The Ants go marching three by three, the little one stops to (smallest guy stops and pretends to be unzipping his trousers) –
Camp Director shouts: HEY!!!! NO, WAIT, STOP!!!! It’s “Climb a Tree, CLIMB A TREE!!!!”
All scramble off, leaving the smallest guy alone in front of the audience, zipping up and looking sheepish.
